'Running Back To You' is the third song and video in a triptych featuring Sir Elton John, who is one of the people who has been most on my side in my career, and a true inspiration from childhood to present day to me.

The song was written with Ian Masterson - an incredible man who mixed the whole record with me (apart from 'Careful Whisper' and 'Home') and has produced hits for Dannii Minogue and Bananarama. A genius! We also wrote 'An Open Heart' and 'Wishful Thinking' together.

The video was made with award-winning Choreographer Steven Hoggett, who most recently choreographed 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' as well as 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time' and 'Once'. We worked on all three videos in the triptych together. I directed it with Santiago Felipe, who does Björk's live photography, and it was art directed by Derek Gruen, aka Del Marquis of Scissor Sisters, who also plays guitar on the track.

The song's inspiration is the kind of scene in a mid-to-low budget '80s film where the strong female lead realises she can't shake the man she's fallen for. She gets up, walks out into the rain: her make up runs, her hair and shoulder pads flatten, and she looks a mess, but she's wearing really fabulous shoes.

Vince Clarke, on of my other musical heroes, remixes the song, which is a dream come true. In turn I remixed the band Reed & Caroline on his label Very Records, and I also remixed 'Make It Wonderful' for Erasure's 'Snow Globe' record.
